Meet Kate
Kate has been a leader in multiple sectors. She sought to tackle the nation’s achievement gap in education, serving as the Executive Director of KIPP Baltimore, Regional Vice President for Rocketship Education, and Vice President of Growth at Citizen Schools.
Committed to building more just communities, she launched the U.S. and Canada program for the international foundation Ashoka and helped transform the business strategy of the United Way of America and its 3000 affiliates to focus on community impact.
Finally, believing that social change does not happen without government, Kate has worked at every level of government including serving as a White House Fellow, the nation’s most prestigious public service fellowship, launching President Clinton’s national service initiative in Massachusetts, and creating the first “Children’s Caucus” in the Massachusetts Legislature.
Kate has a Bachelor of Arts from Amherst College and a Master’s in Public Administration from the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.
